Exposure to folate and lead during pregnancy and autistic-like behaviors

A recent study by Josh Alampi, MIREC researcher and PhD student at Simon Fraser University, has been highlighted in the prestigious journal Environmental Health Perspectives. An example of how data and biological specimens collected from MIREC mothers and children contribute to research. The study shows possible approaches to reduce the harmful effects of prenatal lead exposure on the child’s behavior. See the publication, an editorial and a press release.
