Examining associations between prenatal exposure to a common persistent group of chemicals (perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)) found in consumer products and adolescent metabolic health.
This Biobank project is following-up on the results of a previous study that reported prenatal exposure to perfluorooctanoic acid (a type of perfluoroalkyl substance), was associated with more insulin resistance in adolescents. This project is identifying biological markers of the effects of PFAS exposure using metabolomics.
