This Biobank project is using baby tooth dentin – the tissue that lies beneath enamel – to measure prenatal and early childhood exposure to fluoride. The project will test whether fluoride exposure in tooth dentin is associated with lower IQ scores in children. The project is also testing the association between fluoride biomarkers and thyroid hormones in pregnancy.
