Investigating the potential effects of exposure to perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on selected biomarkers of cardiovascular health and liver function in women during pregnancy and during MIREC-ENDO.
This Biobank project is investigating the potential effects of exposure to perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on selected biomarkers of cardiovascular health and liver function in women during pregnancy and at the most recent follow-up study, MIREC-ENDO. Exposure to PFAS is widespread among Canadians with the main sources of exposure coming from food and drinking water. This work will support Canadian risk assessment activities, including the regulation of PFAS.
