Identified adverse neonatal health outcomes associated with exposure to air pollution during pregnancy, including lower birth weight and infant respiratory distress, and periods during pregnancy when the infant was most at risk.
This Biobank project identified adverse neonatal health outcomes associated with exposure to air pollution during pregnancy, including lower birth weight and severe respiratory distress in term infants, and identified periods of fetal vulnerability to air pollution with respect to birth weight. The project addressed critical knowledge gaps identified by the Government of Canada to reduce air pollutant emissions and improve the environment and health of Canadians. Analyses are still ongoing.
